I’m always trying to incorporate more fruits and veggies into our diet, but honestly, I don’t like a lot of different fruits. So I found a painless way to do it–freeze them. Grapes and berries taste great frozen. It’s like a little treat. I don’t particularly like blueberries, for example, but they’re great frozen. Try it–It works for me!

I’ve been doing a blog series on eating more fruits and veggies…and I’ve got some good recipes I’ve been posting. Good job eating more…even when you don’t like them. Freezing them is a great idea! Good thinking!
Another great way to get fruit is to throw them in a smoothie. If you mix a bunch of different fruits together with orange juice (or another juice you like), you barely even notice they’re there. It’s a great way to get some good servings in!
I second Britni’s comment on the smoothies. Adding frozen fruit turns it into a frozen smoothie (great for hot summer days). Also, if a piece of fruit hangs around until its a little too old to eat fresh, I add it to a smoothie and feel like I’m not wasting it. Peel ripe bananas, wrap in wax paper, and freeze for a smoothie – or a frozen treat. I use a Magic Bullet, but I used to use a regular blender – that way I’m getting all the fiber that the juicer was keeping out.
I’m glad you brought up frozen grapes – they were my dad’s favorite and I had forgotten about that.
